Challenge

Reckitt, a global leader in consumer goods, was facing significant challenges in maintaining high levels of productivity. With an infrastructure that was heavily dependent on manual interventions, the company was experiencing operational bottlenecks.

High downtime, inefficient handling of development teams’ needs, and scalability concerns in the cloud-based environment were adversely impacting the company’s ability to meet evolving business requirements.

Reckitt infrastructure improvement

Solution

Link Group's team of experts were called in to undertake the Automation and Infrastructure Enhancement Project. The project hinged on the strategic use of Linux, Bash, Python, Groovy, DNS, HTTP(S), AWS, Ansible, Terraform, and Git. The first step was to automate repetitive tasks, freeing up critical resources for more value-adding activities.

Link Group employed Terraform for infrastructure-as-code (IaC) management, allowing the setup to be scaled effortlessly. Ansible was used for configuration management, ensuring consistency across the production environment. AWS services like AWS Lambda and Amazon EC2 were leveraged to support cutting-edge technologies and ensure 24/7/365 uptime for applications.

Moreover, Git was utilized for source control, fostering better collaboration among the development teams, and allowing them to work more efficiently in a cloud-based environment. Lastly, comprehensive monitoring and alerting systems were put in place using AWS CloudWatch and SNS, offering real-time insights into system health and performance.
